Enzo Mari - 16 Pesci puzzle
Enzo Mari - 16 Pesci puzzle
A beautiful example of modern Italian design right here people.
Enzo Mari was one of those rare talents whose design spans education, design, illustration, publishing, art, and product.
The puzzle consists of 16 interlocking fish shapes all cut in a single continuous line from one block of wood.
The simple but incredibly functional design allows it to function as a puzzle but the figures are also cut to stand on their own and be stackable. A simple design element that provides an endless range of play applications.
This puzzle was produced by Danese Milano, one of the best product companies of the 20th Century, if you ask me.
It's dated 1974.
Note stains to front, splitting on bottom 2 edges of cover and splitting to bottom-right edge on inner box.
