When it was initially released in English in 1983, it caused controversy among Conservatives, was labelled as ‘homosexual propaganda’ and eventually led to the passing of Section 28.
The book itself is a very charming depiction of a few days in the life of this family - Jenny, Eric, and Martin. The deadpan black and white photos and banal subject-matter make this book oddly reminiscent of Ruscha’s Hard Light artist book.
