This is a fantastic reference point. Maybe one of the best.
This volume contains reference images of various models of chairs by the likes of Sottsass (!!), Aalto, Eames, Noguchi, Nakashima, etc. etc. Everyone is represented here.
It also contains incredible images of the pieces in situ in living spaces. Looking through these images, it’s really hard to believe that this was published in 1953.
Apparently George Nelson published this in an attempt to sell modern furniture to the American market.
