Another great, early Basquiat card.

This card was issued in 1982 by his first gallery, Annina Nosei, to promote the Anatomy print portfolio, an important early body of work in his career.

The Anatomy series was produced in the basement of Nosei’s gallery, which Basquiat used as a studio. The circumstances of Basquiat working the basement are widely contested. Though Basquiat is on record noting that his working there was amicable and more like an artist in residence situation.
